Stacking the Shelves (3)

Stacking The Shelves is a meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews where we share the books we've bought, borrowed, received or downloaded each week!

(Links go to Goodreads)

Bought:

Artemis Fowl and The Last Guardian - Eoin Colfer (My review)

Borrowed:

Went to the library again and got these lovely books:

A Confusion of Princes - Garth Nix

The Piper's Son - Melina Marchetta
Vampire Academy - Richelle Mead
Amelia Anne is Dead and Gone - Kat Rosenfield
Invincible Summer - Hannah Moskowitz

Have been wanting to read all of these! Haven't decided what I'll read first out of my library books but I have yet to read the Vampire Academy series and tons of people have recommended it to me, so I might start with that! Any suggestions?

Link me to your STS because I'd love to see what you got!

  3. I haven't read any of the book you got this week, but almost all of them are on my list. I've only read the first Artemis Fowl, and someday I would like to finish that series. Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy!

  5. Nice list! John Green just blogged about Amelia is Dead and Gone, and it is getting great hype. Plus I love John Green's books (and vlogs) and believe him when he says it is great.

Have you seen that The Fake Steph Dot Com is doing a Vampire Academy re-read this summer? It is convincing me that I, like you, should jump on the VA bandwagon. :-)

I love your blog. I have nominated you for a Liebster award from our blog Young Adult Fiction and Whiskey Sours. yafictionandwhiskeysours.blogspot.com

Check it out, keep up the awesomeness, and pass on the Liebster love!

    1. Oooh I didn't know he blogged about it! A John Green stamp of approval is definitely trustworthy!

And no, I did not know that!!! I actually have never been to that blog, will check it out now! Thanks for the heads-up! I just finished the first one and it was actually a really fun read. Probably wouldn't rank high on your Harry Potter scale but was engaging and really fast-paced, you should check it out :P. Will definitely be reading the rest!

Thanks so much for the Liebster; I'll be posting it up soon! <3

    1. Thanks for stopping by, Tammy! Amelia Anne looks so amazing. I was surprised my library had it given how new it is. Will let you know if I like it! And don't worry, I don't do STS every week either because I just don't get books that often! :) Can't wait to see your next one.

    1. I know exactly what you mean! Totally a case of judging its book by its cover for me. So glad there are so many other awesome bloggers who've managed to convince me otherwise. I just read the first and it was sooo cute! Hope you pick it up!

As for Amelia Anne, I'm reading it soon so I'll definitely let you know. :) Thanks!

  15. Ohhh, the one that caught my attention was the Garth Nix. A Confusion of Princes. I'll be interested to hear your thoughts because I really enjoyed Garth Nix's Abhorsen triology, but haven't picked anything else up by him. I do have Mister Monday to read, but I hadn't heard of this one.

The other one which caught my attention was Vampire Academy. I have that to read too. I've heard lots of positive things about it and I've been meaning to read it for ages! :)

Hope you enjoy and have a happy weekend!

Ugh I was the same with VA! Just finished it and loved it!!! Definitely read it, I totally understand the appeal.

And thanks Livvy! You too! (Or I guess week now that it's Sunday) :)

  17. *High five* for Vampire Academy. I just love the world building in those books and I am even loving the spin off series (Bloodlines) even more. Richelle Mead is just such an awesome writer. Her series are always very fun! I can't wait to see what you think of it. My favorite-ist (lol) character in the series appears in book 2 of Vampire Academy (Frostbite).

Well, enough of my VA fangirling, LOL.

    Awesome haul, Lauren!

    And... happy reading ;)

    1. I'll write my review soon! Pleasantly surprised by it, you always convince me to read these great books! Kind of skipped 4 books on my TBR to read the second book lol, I'm just racing through them. When I'm done we can fangirl together. :)

  18. Lauren, I started to read The Vampire Academy a few months ago but ended up picking up another book instead. Let me know if it is worth sticking with!

I've had quite a haul this week, too: The Best Kind of Mail

    1. I really liked it, actually! I'll write my review soon but basically if you want a fun paranormal read VA is perfect! It's definitely very YA though, whatever that means, so if you're feeling critical or are in the mood for something with a little more depth it's probably not a good choice. But great for Summer!

Thanks for stopping by Rosie, I'll check out your haul now!
